Population policies present a variety of approaches that reflect the specific challenges of each country and its role on the international stage. China’s one-child policy, applied from 1979 to 2015 to deal with rapid population growth, and the unstoppable demographic expansion of other countries, such as Nigeria and India, are emblematic examples of the topicality of demographic dynamics. Italy has been facing negative demographic trends for decades: since 1992, we have experienced an aging population and a reduction in births.
